NFL goes OTT on PS3
DIRECTV and PlayStation Bring NFL Sunday Ticket to PS3 – PlayStation Blog.
Once upon a time, if you were a lowly cable subscriber you had to suffer through the NFL season watching your local team and some other random game on Sundays. Now through the miracle of OTT Internet video, relief is finally here (Oakland/SF Bay Area fans rejoice!), NFL Sunday Ticket is available via any broadband connected PS3 (for a small fee of course). DirecTV is allowing non-DirecTV subscribers to sign up for 17 weeks of out-of-market NFL games, the Redzone channel, and mobile access for $340 for the entire season. That’s just $20 / week, about the price of 2 movie tickets, for an all-you-can-eat NFL buffet.
This just happens to coincide with the recent PS3 price drop to $250 for the basic console. And since every game is streamed over the Internet at full HD quality, it’s a no brainer to use MoCA Coax Networking to ensure a HDTV quality picture every Sunday and beyond. In addition, networking your PS3 with MoCA gives you stutter free online gaming with no interference versus a wireless connection.

Parks Associates: PC and Game Consoles Extend Online Video to TV
Consumer interest for Web-on-TV applications is increasing, and consumers are rapidly making their own connection via PC and game consoles. According to Parks Associates, from 2008 to 2009, the number of U.S. households using Web-connected game consoles increased by 64%, and the number connecting a PC to a TV increased by 36%.
Over three-fourths of U.S. households with PC-to-TV connections and one-third of Xbox 360 owners are using these connections to stream online video. These households, as they extend online video and other Web experiences to the TV screen, are laying the foundation for future behaviors with connected CE and entertainment services.
This bodes well for connected Blu-ray players and networked digital media players such as Apple TV and Roku, says the article. With more consumers using these devices to stream HD videos, the demand for MoCA networks will increase as well.

“So you’d like to… Build a Multimedia Home Network” on amazon.com
Amazon.com has a “how-to” guide explaining how to use MoCA with your PS3 or other media player to download video using Vuze
“This guide is intended to help people build a Multimedia Home Network and stream HD video from the internet using Vuze on their PC, a digital media adaptor, and MoCA. This allows you to watch movies on a television while sitting on your couch rather than sitting in your home office using a laptop or desktop.

How to connect a Playstation 3 to the Internet using Coax and MoCA Technology | eHow.com.
Not that it’s a difficult install, but here’s a good article on connecting a PS3 to the Actiontec MoCA adapters. There’s also one on connecting a Nintendo Wii which is basically the same steps. In fact, you could apply the same procedure to hooking up your Xbox 360, PC, networked PC, Bluray Player, etc….
One thing not mentioned is that if you have multiple devices in your living room, you can connect a 5-port switch to the MoCA adapter and add another 4-ports to connect your living room devices. Now all your devices can have access to the 170Mbps throughput via MoCA.
