TiVo Premiere Elite at Best Buy Magnolia – 1st MoCA CE Product

Quad Tuning TiVo Premiere Elite Now Available – Zatznotfunny

The first (MoCA enabled) TiVo Elite’s have shown up at Best Buy Magnolia stores and they are already sold out and backordered online.  In fact, in the first week of availability there are already numerous reviews, forum discussions, unboxing videos, and general discussion all mostly positive about the new features.  4 digital tuner, 2 TB of storage, Multiroom streaming, dual core processor and MoCA home networking make up the most advanced TiVo DVR to date.  Not to be overlooked is that TiVo Elite is the first MoCA-enabled consumer electronics product to be sold at retail and is compatible with other MoCA Home Networking products from NETGEAR, D-LINK, Channel Master, and Actiontec.

Best Buy and Netflix Announce Partnership to Instantly Stream Movies Over the Internet Via Latest Models of Insignia Blu-ray Disc Players – Oct 20, 2009

Well it’s looking like Netflix is everywhere, and now it really is.  Best Buy has announced Netflix now officially on their latest store brand Insignia Bluray Players.  Price at $179 and $249, the new players are both Internet connection ready, with the higher priced unit including WiFi.  The press release also says that users will be able to select Netflix movies right on the player instead of using a PC to add to their viewing queue.  Look for many of these players to connect with MoCA to guarantee their HD streaming experience.

TiVo and Best Buy Team Up

tivo_bb

In an attempt to rebound from losing 25% of their subscriber base over the past two years, TiVo and Best Buy have struck a deal. TiVo DVRs will be promoted at Best Buy stores and TiVo will gain access to Best Buy’s Napster music service. This also allows for Best Buy to communicate with consumers even after they have left the store. Products such as Best-Buy branded TiVo’s aren’t set to debut until early 2010. With TiVo DVRs being touted at Best Buy stores, consumers will need a fast and reliable source to get these devices on their network, which is where MoCA comes into the fold. Let us know what you think of this news in the comments.

MoCA Spotted at Best Buy – Internet Communications

MoCA at Best Buy

MoCA at Best Buy

Went down to the Santana Row Best Buy in San Jose, CA and spotted the first MoCA networking kits in the computer section of the store along with the Slingbox, cable modems, and DSL modems.  They hadn’t yet switched out all of the price tags so the description didn’t match the NETGEAR MCA1001 model number and price but it sure looked good on the shelf.  To the left of the MoCA units are the Tivo wireless adapters so everything sort of fits together.

The Santana Row Best Buy is one of the more impressive Best Buys I’ve seen, 2 stories of electronics with all the extras even an Apple Store.  If you’re looking for a pair of MoCA networking units and don’t want to wait for the UPS guy to show up, check out the Best Buy website and use Store Pickup from a local Best Buy that has them.
